India Williams

India first joined Beyond in summer 2024 as an intern on the Community Empowerment Team. She graduated from New York University in 2023 with a BA in Public Policy and in 2026 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with an EdM in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership in the Global Studies in Education program.

Throughout the Chicagoland area, India participates in community organizing projects and efforts ranging from international to local solidarity with oppressed communities. In returning to work at Beyond, she hopes to foster the relationships between community partners, organizations, and members to facilitate the transfer of power into the hands of those most impacted by the criminal punishment system.
